Pupil Premium

At Spring School, 29% of pupils are currently eligible for pupil premium funding.

We have the highest expectations and aspirations for all our pupils. Each pupil should have equal opportunities to achieve the best possible life chances, irrespective of socio-economic background.

We make every effort to ensure that disadvantaged pupils receive highly effective support and our core vision is to ensure our pupils make excellent progress as a result of the specialist environment, skilled staff team and great teaching they experience.

The aim of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is to support schools in raising the attainment levels of the most disadvantaged pupils and to ‘close’ or ‘narrow’ the gap that exists. To this end, the Department for Education (DfE) provides additional funding to all schools based on the number of pupils who are:

  • currently eligible for ever 6 free school meals (FSM)
  • looked after children (LACs/CLAs)
  • an ever 6 service child (children of Armed Forces Personnel within the last six years).

We are awaiting confirmation of our funding allocation, however we have drafted a strategy detailing the key challenges to achievement identified among our disadvantaged pupils and the outcomes we intend to see by the end of this year. Once our funding allocation has been confirmed, this draft strategy will also detail how our spending will address these challenges.
